The Sierra de las Nieves. Birdwatcher´s Guide

The Sierra de las Nieves region is one of those magical places in Málaga province which offer rugged wilderness within easy reach of more inhabited areas, such as the Costa del Sol; the virtually unchanged  Spanish fir pinsapares, pine or Cork oak forests, with beautiful olive groves stretching as far as the eye can see, and the tiny villages with their traditional flavour and good people. It is, unquestionably, a region full of charm and natural richness, where it is worth just wandering aimlessly  and enjoying its many attractions.

This guide and CD helps you to familiarise yourself with one of the most outstanding of Nature´s elements around here – the birds; an attractive world full of wonder for us humans.

This guide offers, in addition to a few initial general thoughts, a complete collection of bird entries with 167 species, photos of each species with different kinds of plumages, identification tips and description of the bird´s habitat and feeding habits. The accompanying CD is a collection of bird songs and diverse data gathered in the region. Moreover, distribution maps and observation calendar for the bird species are included. Also, the guide talks about other 26 rarer species which may be seen in the area.

What is more, there are 14 detailed walk descriptions covering various parts of the region, especially designed for birdwatchers but also leading into the most beautiful and distinctive parts of this land.
