Virginia Jiménez Pérez was born in Ronda and studied Fine Arts at Escuela de Artes plásticas y Oficios de San Telmo in Málaga. She inherited her love for art from her grandfather, Salvador Pérez Barriga, who brought her as a young girl to his wood carving workshop.

Her most important work is the first religious throne carved by a woman, made for the virgin Los Dolores del Puente, and carried in an Easter procession every Holy Monday from the Santo Domingo church in Málaga.

Following her enterprising path, Virginia completed an artistic project with prisoners at a penitentiary centre de Alhaurín de la Torre where she brought out all the good things about being human, which resulted in provincial awards. She has won several prizes in painting and sculpture. Virginia continues to explore anything related to the arts and has specialized in tattoos and micro-pigmentation which gives her the ability to help people suffering from cancer.

As a hobby, she continues to provide wood carving classes in Ronda, while going to Málaga to indulge in her passion for classic rowing. Old traditions combined with the wish for continual growth, inspire Virginia to create new projects.
